【摘要】:Presenceofpaper,metal,gels,incompatiblepolymer,orotherextraneouscontaminationinpolymers,includingrecycledpolymers,maycauseproblemswithextrusionandsubsequentprocessingofthematerial.Thisprocedureisusefulforseparatinggrosscontaminantsfrompolymers.Forexample,theprocedureisusefulfordeterminingthequalityofresinstobeusedinfiberapplications.Ifdesired,theisolatedcontaminantsmaybesubsequentlyidentifiedbytheappropriatevisualorinstrumentalprocedures.1.1Thispracticecoversameanstoseparatetheunmoltenparticles,gels,andimpuritiescontaminatingapolymersample.Theproceduremaybeusedtoremovegelsandincompatiblematerialsthatmaycauseimperfectionsinthefinalextrudedproduct.Underpressure,mostgelswillbreakupordeformandpassthroughawiremeshfilter,howeverhighmolecularweightgelsmaynotbreakupordeform.1.2Ifdesired,materialsisolatedonawiremeshfiltercansubsequentlybeidentifiedbyspectroscopicorotheranalyticalmeans.Note18212;Althoughnotpresentedasaquantitativemethod,theprocedurepresentedinthispracticemaybeusedtoprovidequantitativeresultsatthediscretionoftheuser.Theuserassumestheresponsibilitytoverifythereproducibilityofquantitativeresults.Detectionlimitdependsonthemeshsizeofthefilterscreen,buttheprocedureisgenerallyapplicabletotheseparationofimmisciblecontaminantspresentatconcentrationsgreaterthan0.1%.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardsstatements,seeSection8.Note28212ThereisnoequivalentISOstandard.
