【摘要】:ThisCodecoversthedesign,construction,operation,inspection,testing,maintenance,alteration,andrepairofthefollowingequipmentanditsassociatedparts,rooms,spacesandhoistways,wherelocatedinoradjacenttoabuildingorstructure:(a)hoistingandloweringmechanisms,equippedwithacar,whichmovebetweentwoormorelandings.Thisequipmentincludes,butisnotlimitedtoelevators(see1.3).(b)power-drivenstairwaysandwalkwaysforcarryingpersonsbetweenlandings.Thisequipmentincludes,butisnotlimitedtoescalatorsandmovingwalks(see1.3).(c)hoistingandloweringmechanismsequippedwithacarwhichservestwoormorelandingsandisrestrictedtothecarryingofmaterialbyitslimitedsizeorlimitedaccesstothecar.Thisequipmentincludes,butisnotlimitedtodumbwaitersandmateriallifts(see1.3).NOTE1.1.1(b)and(c):Onlyelevatorsarecoveredinthisedition.Otherequipmentmustcomplywith1.2(a).Provisionismadeforotherequipmenttobecoveredinfutureeditions.
